We are currently developing the RAMANBIOASSAY together with our scientific project partner, the Leibniz Institute for Photonic Technologies e.V. (Leibniz IPHT) das RAMANBIOASSAY. This is an innovative analysis concept for the rapid and reliable determination of pathogenic bacteria from patient samples, based on Raman spectroscopy.

Antibiotic-resistant microorganisms are the greatest threats to the healthcare system worldwide. Their therapy is complex and costly. The right therapy decision is life-saving.

As an integrated platform for selecting the right antibiotic within minutes and with short diagnostic times, our RAMANBIOASSAY represents an efficient solution approach. With the RAMANBIOASSAY, results on antibiotic resistance and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) can be obtained from blood and urine samples within only 3.5 hours, with minimal personnel input and in a highly standardised manner.

The test is carried out in the following steps:

  1. The standardised inoculum is placed in a ready-to-use and cost-efficient chip.
  2. The reaction of the microorganisms to the antibiotics applied to the chip at different concentrations is recorded.
  3. In less than 3.5 hours, the resistogram is issued.

Our clinical diagnostics is based on the interaction of organic material with photons and enables bioparticles to be easily detected and determined, e.g. in blood, urine, air and water.
